Brittany’s wild and rugged coastline offers a wide variety of surf spots where you’ll find great waves in every season. Some are exposed to friendly, sheltered coves and others are more exposed to the Atlantic swells, catering for all levels of surfing. You can easily find friendly beach breaks or nice point breaks and when the conditions line up, you can have a magic session in a stunning setting.

In summer, this region offers up long and smooth waves in an idyllic setting. The Commodore Hostel will take you to long beaches as well as beautiful coves giving you variety and the opportunity to surf every day.

Where we go

The beauty of The Commodore Hostel is that we are not tied down to any one location or surf spot. We have the freedom to chase the waves you want in Brittany. We cruise the main surf spots such as Crozon, La Baie Des Trepasses and La Torche.

Rolling Surf Hostel

Enjoy this truly unique experience where we make it possible to explore the non touristic parts of the country and tailor the destinations to our guests desires, all in the comfort of a home on wheels. 

 

Embrace the freedom to be on the water from first to last light. Don’t surf? You can practice yoga from the privacy of our roof top terrace and bask in the beauty of the stars at night with some French wine. 

 

Stroll around the natural parks, go hiking or chill at the beach with a book. Learn about the Celtic Breton culture, festivals and music. Indulge on their traditional crepes (complète jambon) in a classic creperie or sample the regions most popular seafood such as mussels and lobsters. Don’t forget to taste the famous cake Kouign Amann (meaning butter ‘n’ sugar). After surfing, grab a cold beer at the local bar or enjoy it from our rooftop terrace on the bus. Get inspired in our fully equipped kitchen and teach or learn a new recipe to prepare a home cooked meal for the Commodore family.

 

This trip is tailored to where and what you want to do. We’ve sussed out the best surf spots on the coast but are always open to suggestions or chasing bigger or smaller waves.

Once onboard The Commodore Hostel you are part of the family.  It means that everyone gets involved in the bus life. Whether that be storing the surf boards, cooking lunch or dinner, washing up or shopping in the market. 

 

About the bus:

The dorm can sleep 8 guests: 6 single and 1 double bed

The bus is full equipped which gives us total freedom to travel where ever our guests want.  We have a kitchen, lounge/ seating area, a solar and indoor shower, a compost toilet, solar panels and a rooftop terrace.

 

Departure:

We offer pick up from Quimper railway station. If your arrival destination is outside of town, please email us and we will do our best to accomodate you.

 

Included:

  • Pick up and drop off from airport, train or bus station
  • Breakfast (Oats, eggs or crepes with bread, jams and tea and coffee) served at a time our guests agree on.
  • Sheets, duvet and pillow
  • Use of all facilities: toilet, shower (indoor and outdoor), lounge area and kitchen
  • Amenities: BBQ, skateboard, books, use of sound system, games, bike, fishing gear and lots of outdoor games like Spikeball.

 

Not Included:

  • Lunch & Dinner
  • Towels
  • Surf boards. They can be rented on a daily or weekly basis from surf rental stores along the coast. Choose the style of board that suits you best or try a new style. Only soft boards can be rented from the hostel.

 

Prices:

4 days  €320 single bed,  €490 double bed

7 days  €520 single bed,  €760 double bed
